The last stretchHowever you come up, the final climb is winding — go slow, watch for cyclists and wildlife, and download your route before signal fades. The house is about 3.5 miles from town.
The full address is sent 24 hours before arrival, along with your door code. Hidden Nest sits at the end of a quarter-mile private road that’s steep and windy — take it slow, especially after dark.
Enter your smart-lock code at the door. Early check-in is sometimes available; just ask.
Per Riverside County Ordinance 927.1, we need a copy of your ID and a signed rental agreement within 48 hours of booking. We’ll send this to you through your booking platform — please complete it promptly so your code is active on arrival.
The private road is steep, windy, and a quarter mile long. In snow, a 4WD vehicle or AWD with chains is required— park at the top of the road and walk down to the house. Don’t attempt the descent in a 2WD car. Pack chains, warm layers, and a flashlight.

To keep our jacuzzi comfortable and skin-friendly we take pride in using minimal chemicals. We kindly ask all guests to rinse off before getting in to help us uphold this practice.
Fold the cover over and pull it aside to uncover the tub. Please replace the cover when it’s not in use — it holds the temperature and keeps debris out.
Click the light button to cycle through light modes. Adjust the temperature with the Up / Down arrows.
There’s a knob above the mantle, on the top right, that controls the fireplace exhaust fan. Use it to help draw smoke up and out.
Ash can be removed from the fireplace and placed in the ash bin to the right of the fireplace. Our cleaners take it from there — no need to do anything else with it.
It’s an open fireplace, so keep the area in front of it clear and use the screen. Never leave a fire unattended or burning while you sleep or leave the cabin. Indoor fireplace only — Idyllwild has strict fire regulations and no outdoor fires of any kind are permitted.
Turn the knob on the propane tank to the open position.
Lift off the cooking grate on the right side to reach the burner underneath.
Turn the right burner control knob to the ignite position.
Put a firelighter in the circular opening in the burner tube, underneath the ceramic briquettes.
Light the firelighter, then push the igniter.
Once the flames catch, put the grate back and adjust the control knob to your desired heat.
Please turn the knob on the propane tank back to the closed position. Spare propane tanks are on site — if you run out mid-stay, swap in a fresh one or text us and we’ll sort it out.
You may see deer, squirrels, birds, and other wildlife — please enjoy them from a distance and do not leave food outdoors.
Idyllwild has strict fire regulations for good reason. No outdoor fires of any kind, no fireworks, and propane BBQ only. The indoor fireplace is fine — see the guide above.
